SPECIAL J&M CHARACTERISTICS – J&M AS AN EMPLOYER
When Dr.-Ing. Frank Jenner and Dr. Andreas Müller founded J&M Management Consulting in 1997; it was on the basis of two objectives: firstly, they wanted to combine management consulting with advice on IT solutions, in order to provide a better quality of service. Secondly, they wanted to create a company with a contemporary infrastructure, where every staff member was free to mature and have fun.
The company has had a good deal of success with this approach and has undergone continuous expansion since its inception in 1997. Since then, the J&M team has grown from 2 to 200 employees. During this time, one of the greatest challenges has been how to maintain the original corporate structure. According to the economics magazine “Wirtschaftswoche”, J&M's infrastructure and high level of employee satisfaction have made it into one of Germany’s best employers. J&M is one of the few comparable entrepreneur-run consultancies on the market. As well as owning the company, Frank Jenner and Andreas Müller are both directors. They are, therefore, very much involved in the daily operation of the company, and are able to provide a level of sustained development that salaried managers would find difficult to achieve. The company practices the delegation of responsibility and promotes a culture of diversity based on the self-determination, performance and innovation of its employees.
